Jill Sawchuk
{Workshop Facilitator at Yoga for Today}
Thanks to the influence of her mother, Jill Sawchuk has been practicing yoga most of her life. She traveled all over the world studying and practicing and has been teaching for over 12 years. Jill received her formal teaching certification from the Sivanada International Yoga Vedanta Center in Neyyar Dam, India, however her teaching is influenced by many different yoga styles and teachers. Most recently she is inspired by the teachings of Diane Long and Vanda Scaravelli. She is eternally grateful for and highly influenced by the teachings of vipassana mediation.
What Jill hopes to share through her teaching is the possibility of freedom in the mind and body. Her approach is intuitive, gentle and personalized for each individual. She encourages students to listen to the body, to pay attention to breath and to learn from what is revealed by this observation.
For 7 years Jill ran her own studio, Om Yoga Sayulita, in Mexico and is thrilled to be starting a new adventure back in Canada with a focus on teaching transformational workshops.
