Meditation & Philosophy
Introducing a totally new kind of Yoga class! Now you can deepen your understanding of the purpose and techniques of yoga without going to an ashram! Learn about prana and the five bodies (koshas). Explore the various paths of yoga, and study basic Sanskrit including pronunciation and vocabulary, repetition of mantras (japa), and yoga songs (kirtan). Each class will begin with deep relaxation or meditation followed by yoga philosophy, sutras, slokas, stories, and more. Asanas are one part of Hatha yoga, find out why they are so important, what they are awakening for us, and how the other aspects of yoga can enrich your experience on the mat. Note* please bring a notebook and pen to each class.
