Donalee

Donalee has been doing yoga since the late 90’s. She started classes with Anita Sielecki at the University of Alberta, then trained with Teddy Hyndman in the alignment-based Iyengar style. First certified by the Yoga Association of Alberta (YAA) Teacher Training Program in 2008, she now holds YAA Intermediate Teacher Status (600 hrs+) and is the Coordinator of the YAA Teacher Training and Certification Program and the founder of True Bliss Yoga.

Through her continuing studies in yoga, Donalee fell in love with the the heart-oriented style and alignment principles taught in Anusara yoga, and took an intensive immersion and many workshops here at Yoga for Today with Robin Golt from Montreal. She has also studied with Christina Sell, Barrie Risman, David McAmmond, Sandra Sammartino, Kate Potter, Michael Stone, David Wilson, and many others. Her training also includes work in Yoga Therapy, Prenatal Yoga, Radiant Child Yoga, YogaKids Foundations and Tui-La Acupressure Massage, plus University-level coursework in Philosophy, Psychology, Religious Studies and Dance.

Donalee’s passion is teaching theme-based hatha yoga classes, incorporating the philosophies of yoga, and universal principles of alignment. By embodying life-enhancing attitudes and actions within the physical practice, students of all levels can safely explore the frontiers of body, mind and spirit. She encourages students to dive deep into the depths of being, and come out as radiant, vibrant expressions of the true bliss that lies within all this. Not to get too serious, she also loves teaching weekly yoga classes for kids, and encourages fun and light-heartedness in all her classes!
