Dorothy Robinson

Dorothy began her yogic journey in 1997 with Lillian Khattab. Her initial experiences in yoga opened the doors to an amazing path towards health and wellness. While doing yoga with Lillian, Dorothy began doing workshops with Lillian’s mother, Friedel, which inspired her to sign-up for the 300-hour teacher training program with Friedel Khattab’s School of Yoga.

Dorothy received her teaching certificate in 2004. Her training includes training in classical Hatha yoga; Okido, Wada and Nakamura systems of yoga (Japanese), therapeutic breathing, pranayama (Dr. Gharote), mudras, yoga for the lymphatic system, study of pre- and post-natal yoga, yoga of the old masters (Sivananda, Shyam Goswami), Swami Dev Murti (crocodile series), Vipassana Meditation (Dhamma Surabhi in B.C., and Mechele Calvert. Dorothy has also done workshops with yoga master international teachers Erich Schiffmann and Rod Stryker.

Dorothy went to India in 2008, 2011, and 2016 to further her yogic studies which included sessions at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Delhi, the Sivananda Yoga Centre and the Swami Rama Sadhaka Grama Ashram in Rishikesh. In January 2016, Dorothy received her intermediate teaching certificate from the Yoga Association of Alberta. In January 2017, she received her senior teacher designation.

She teaches classical hatha yoga, pranayama, therapeutic breathing, relaxation and meditation. Her classes focus on uniting body, mind, and spirit; gaining flexibility and strength; and relaxation.
